For everyone we love
Meeting Emerie
We're so glad you want to meet Emerie. To keep her healthy and give us space to adjust, here's what we're asking of everyone.
The short version
Text or call first. Stay home if you're sick. Wash your hands. No kissing her. Wait to share photos.
Timing
- •Text or call first. No drop-ins.
- •The first week or two we're keeping visits to close family. Text us and we'll find a time.
- •Plan for about an hour unless we invite you to stay longer.
- •We're keeping visits between 10am and 7pm.
- •Small groups are easier on us than big ones. If you're hoping to bring more than a couple of people, check with us first.
- •Adults only for the first few weeks. We can't wait for her to meet the kids once she's a bit bigger.
- •No overnight guests for the first 4 weeks. If you're coming from out of town, just ask and we'll point you to a few places nearby.
Health
- •Stay home if you're sick or have been around anyone sick recently: colds, cough, fever, sore throat, stomach bugs, RSV, cold sores.
- •Please be up to date on flu and Tdap (whooping cough) vaccines. Get your Tdap at least two weeks ahead so it has time to protect her.
Before you hold her
- •Wash hands or sanitize on arrival.
- •Ask before holding her. Let feeding or sleep finish before passing her around.
- •No kissing the baby. Not her face, hands, or feet.
- •Come fragrance-free: no perfume, cologne, scented lotion, or smoke smell.
Our space
- •Please don't expect us to host, cook, or entertain.
- •If you want to help: bring food, run the dishwasher, fold laundry, take out the trash.
- •We may end a visit early to rest or feed.
Photos & privacy
- •Please hold off on posting photos of her until we've shared her first.
- •Please don't share her name or any details before we've announced them ourselves.
If we don't answer, cancel on you, say "not right now," or end a visit early, it isn't personal. We're running on very little sleep. Thanks for loving her already.
